100 Years of Fashion

Fashion is not a new concept, fashion has always been as far as The Bees are concerned. The Working Bees love this video that explores London fashion (Plus some awesome dance moves), and how it has developed over the last century. Blonde Bee is a big fan of retro styles and always tries to incorporate them into her daily life. If you are a fan of retro styles there are so many ways you can do this!

I love being a woman, one of the main reasons is the choice we have in outfits we can wear, skirts, shirts, shorts, pants, dresses one pieces, the list goes on. Men are slightly more limited with the type of garment they can chose.

Fashion is consistently evolving making it can be difficult to keep with with all the modern fashion houses of the world. What this video screams at me is do not be afraid to look backwards to for inspiration. Some of the looks from years gone by are timeless, like a clean lines of a shift dress or a simple neck scarf that would make Audrey Hepburn proud.

There are also some crazy styles from gone-by eras that you should stay clear from, such as skirt-leggings, clogs and the 80’s perm! If any of them do come back into fashion, put them down and walk out of the shop……the trend will pass.

If you are ever unsure of how to mix styles just remember simple and clean lines are always best. But have fun with it, the 50’s a-line skirts will go fabulous with the modern shirts and tops available on the high-street today. Have you ever watch Mad Men? If not you should. Christina Hendricks and January Jones are two of my fashion icons from this show.  The costume designer has do some amazing with with their wardrobes. All their style scream of the 50’s era but anyone of there outfits would not look missed place walking up 5th Avenue in New York in 2015.

Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself.
