Burjuman will be hosting their 15th International Millinery Exhibition , which goes with out saying that every year they deliver the most stylish hats! Be the first to grab the best or be sorry when you get the least gorgeous hat ! Sorry not Sorry! The Millinery Exhibition will be hosted between the 16 and 24 March ahead of the Dubai World Cup set for the 25 March 2017. This Saturday!!
This pop-up exhibition has become a must-visit on any stylish race-goers fashion calendar, be overwhelmed with designers such as ITAM by Kings Signature, Liza Georgia Milinery, MARILENA ROMEO and designs by Christian and Rebekah. The Hats are usually priced from 4000-2000 AED depending on the day and how charming you are I have well learnt the technique of a good charm and have walked away with a Hat each year for 1500 AED.
There is a designer who comes every here from London I simply cant remember his name but for some reason every year I end up going to the exhibition trying on several hats and always walk a way with a Hat from this very talented milliner. The designs that come in from Australia are breath taking and again can not for the life of me remember the lovely lady who made the hats I loved last year. Sorry about that.
The Picture below displayed as number three is the Hat from the London designer, from Lock Hatters in the UK,it was a bit over priced but I have a collection going as you can see so I plan to have it till I am super old:).
This hat is by far my most prized hat that I wore to the London Royal Ascot 2015, I will probably wear this hat to the Dubai races this year. It is just so beautiful and the colour is unique the shape is also very different and compliments my long face shape, plus I think its safe to say it looks good on my complexion. The Hat from the Australian designer from the Burjuman Miliner Exhibition 2014 is displayed next to number 2. I adore this hat it was my very first hat and the one I wore for the first time at the Dubai World Cup. Number one is from the very lovely British designer which you will find in burjuman exhibition, he always has unique pieces and for last year I was torn between the red hat above in the display picture above I actually purchased the red one and then returned it for the white one as shown in the look with the pink dress. Because silly me did not plan the dress it was a gift and then of course I HAD to wear it so there was no way I was going to mix a red hat with a pink dress!
I would advise that you first source your hat then purchase your dress, as then you can bring it all together nicely. If have bought your dress first then see what hat looks best, you can also go for a fascinator if it is your first time and you do not really want to spend in the thousands for a hat try: REISS, ACCESSORIZE, DKNY, RIVER ISLAND, TOPSHOP, ZARA (These stores usually put together a whole race inspired look and you can grab everything under one store for approx 600 AED max including shoes and accessories)
My Ultimate GO TO STORES for the races are: BCBGMAXAZRIA, Ted Baker, Maje, Miss Selfridge, Karen Millen. (Dresses) Aldo, Steve Madden, Zara, Dune London (Shoes)
Below are 3 looks for the Races that I have attended in and proud to say one look even landed me a shopping splurge at Sacoor Brothers. Can you guess which one it was ? All the more fun to add that extra effortless look for this year! For more inspiration I have also added a special addition of adding a HIS look for inspiration for your other half and how you can match together with out looking to cliche. Wearing complimentary colours is always elegant without looking like you tried to match each other. You will see a lot of couples matching or their looks finishing each others. You can enter the competition at the races for “Best Dressed Couple”, as you enter they give you a number, give it a try and as its a lot of fun. Make sure you get there earlier to beat the queues.
